Hindhead Golf Club

Founded in 1904 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and a small group of golfing enthusiasts, Hindhead Golf Club is set in one of the most glorious natural settings and ranks amongst the best of Britain’s heathland courses.

The Devil’s Punchbowl is a large hollow of dry sandy heath to the east of Hindhead and it is overlooked by Gibbet Hill, which is the second highest hill in Surrey. Holes two to nine are laid out through these same heather strewn Ice Age valleys and the first hole and the back nine plays on the hillside heathland plateau.

Undoubtedly, the front nine is the most dramatic, but the back nine represents a fine golfing challenge on ideal golfing terrain. The Club are investing significant sums in the development and conditioning of the course, including the regeneration of heather and improvements to the 40-odd bunkers on the course.

The 18-hole layout measures 6,390 yards, with a par of 70 and, situated close to the A3 and just an hour's drive from central London, this wonderfully conditioned and presented course is a must for every golfer.
